Meet Ashley Roper

Ashley Roper is the kind of tattooer who values the transmutation of our rich inner lives onto our physical form. The process becomes ritual; from the first ideas of a concept to the sacred act of using ink to permanently alter the flesh. Ash bridges the gap from bodily alteration to adorning the altar.

People always have, and always will, lean upon the art form of tattooing as an expression of grief, joy, meaning, or just to be more fun to look at; to use the body as the medium of our spirit.

Ash is honored to create a trusting bond between herself and clients to produce custom work that encapsulates and translates those metaphysical feelings into a treasured piece of lifelong art.An artist from the time her hands could hold a pen, Ash has also embraced a life inspired by the natural world. She’s a mycologist and mushroom enthusiast, and allows the beauty and magic of the natural world to be a guide in the practice of art.

In an ever-evolving state of growth, Ash has been tattooing since 2008, proud to be building technique with the safest of standards both physically and emotionally, helping clients memorialize the personal into the permanent.

Session Preparation

The tattoo ritual is an intimate and involved moment in your life; there are many things we can do together to ensure your experience is as peaceful and meaningful as possible. I recommend regularly moisturizing the area we plan to tattoo for at least a week leading up to our session to ensure the surface of your skin is healthy and ready to receive ink. If you prefer to use any numbing agents, please consult with me prior to our session. I use a solution containing lidocaine called Bactine during sessions, after the skin has been broken, to ease pain for clients. It is imperative that this is discussed before we begin. Do not, I repeat, do not (!) apply any numbing creams without prior discussion with me about best options.
